Michelle Vaughn

Classically trained

I started playing violin in the 4th grade trhough my public school strings program. I kept with it (with a lot of encouragement from my parents!) and got obsessed. By high school I was in the youth orchestra on Saturdays, two orchestras during the day, taking and teaching private lessons and attending summer music camps.

Locally taught

I studied at Central Washington University for both my undergraduate degree in Violin Performance and Music Education and later my Master’s Degree in Violin Performance/Pedagogy. Carrie Rehkopf shaped who I am as an artist and teacher through private lessons and studio classes.

Individually minded

I have taught private violin lessons for more than 25 years now. During that time I have never had two students who are exactly alike. To honor this beautiful variability I make sure to adjust my teaching method, books, and approach for each person. I am happy to offer lessons to students beginning to advanced, as young as three years and as old as you like, and am happily affirming of every flavor of neurology that comes my way.

Community centered

I have the pleasure to serve as Concertmaster for the Wenatchee Valley Youth Orchestra - this is my tenth year! I am also the director of and violin coach for the Wenatchee Valley Youth Orchestra and have a small private violin studio.

Chicken obsessed

My husband and two kids help me take care of our nine cuddly and hilarious chickens. We love spending time on our mini farm gardening, raising angora rabbits, picking fruit, adding native landscaping and of course bwaking with the chickens.
